Past speakers have included accomplished executives\, politicians and entrepreneurs.\n\n\n\nOn February 14th\, we will hear remarks from Founder & CEO of More Than Words\, Jodi Rosenbaum. \n\n\n\nodi Rosenbaum\, started MTW in 2004 with four young men from a Waltham group home\, a 150 square foot office space\, a computer\, and a pile of books found on the side of the road. The young people that helped start MTW were empowered by real responsibility\, earning money\, and the high expectations and compassionate accountability that formed the bedrock of MTW's culture.\n\n \n\nMore Than Words expanded significantly since then to include a youth-run warehouse bookstore in Waltham and a warehouse and retail/event space in Boston with expanded business lines and programming that includes 2 years of graduate support. Across sites and programs\, MTW serves nearly 400 young people per year.\n\n \n\nJodi has more than 23 years of experience working with youth in the child welfare and juvenile justice systems\, public schools and youth development field\, including with Teach For America. Jodi has a political science degree from Emory University with a focus on child welfare/juvenile justice policy and a master's in education in risk and prevention from Harvard and has taken supplemental coursework in Business and Social Enterprise at Harvard and MIT.
