Summer is calling! Are you ready to spend your summer leading a group of campers on a journey filled with amazing learning experiences, laughter, and lifelong memories? If you are up for the challenge, we want you to join our team as a Head Pool Lifeguards at our day camps Cedar Hill in Waltham, MA & Camp Rice Moody, located in Reading, MA.
We are looking for individuals who are energetic and have a passion for working with youth. Girl Scouts of Eastern Massachusetts (GSEMA) offers invaluable skill-building, leadership, training, and enrichment opportunities that can’t be found anywhere else.
This position requires you to be at least 21 years of age (as of June 15, 2026) and have experience supervising others.
If you do not have current Red Cross Lifeguard Training but you have a willingness to become certified, we offer training – FOR FREE!

Hours and Work Environment:
Camp Dates are June 16 – August 14, 2026. Camp runs Monday – Friday and the role is for 40-hours per week. The camp season includes 1 week of paid training.
Pay Rate
$19.50 per hour

A Head Pool Lifeguard will:
-Oversee the pool program, ensuring waterfront safety for all camp participants.
Supervise lifeguards.
-Assist with the care and maintenance of pool equipment including monitoring water quality as directed by the camp director or site manager.
-Collaborate with staff to plan and adapt age-appropriate activities aligned with Girl Scout program goals
-Foster a positive, nurturing, and inclusive camp environment focused on camper safety, growth, support, and development.
-Administer first aid or seek emergency assistance when necessary.
Additional Comments/Information:
Cedar Hill Camp & Rice Moody Camp offer campers entering kindergarten through 5th grade the life-changing experience of summer camp. Camper activities include arts and crafts, games, and splashing around in the swimming pool—not to mention favorite camp activities like singalongs and crafts.
Requirements:
Is this you? -Age 21+ by June 15, 2026 -Experience supervising staff -Either currently OR have a willingness to become a Red Cross Trained Lifeguard (or equivalent) as well as Red Cross First Aid and CPR certified. -Desire and ability to work with children outdoors. -Ability to assist in teaching an activity. -Enthusiasm, sense of humor, patience, self-control. -Ability to work within the camp environment (work may be indoors or outdoors and may be hot, humid, rainy or cool weather.) -Ability to effectively identify, analyze and solve practical problems and successfully manage a variety of variables and personalities; ability to adapt in a changing environment. Other Requirements: This position requires successful completion of criminal background checks and to enroll as an active member of Girl Scouts.
