Chief Mission Delivery Officer 

Girl Scouts of Eastern Massachusetts (GSEMA) is seeking a visionary and results-driven Chief Mission Delivery Officer (CMDO) to lead the organization’s programs and pathways, membership and volunteer engagement functions. Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, and serving as a key member of the Senior Leadership Team the CMDO will act as a strategic and operational partner, translating GSEMA’s strategic plan into actionable goals that will drive growth and innovation.

The CMDO will drive inclusive growth through innovate strategies that expand membership, strengthen volunteer engagement and enhance program excellence. As a brand ambassador, the CMDO will promote the Girl Scout mission through outreach and public engagement and by cultivating partnerships with schools, community organizations, and business leaders. 

Through visionary leadership and a deep commitment to the Girl Scout mission, the CMDO will play a pivotal role in building girls of courage, confidence, and character, advancing GSEMA’s impact and ensuring meaningful, high-quality experiences for all members.

Position Highlights

Minimum 15 years of experience is required in the following areas:

Strategic Leadership Across Membership Delivery

Lead cross-functional teams responsible for membership, programming, and volunteer engagement, impacting 18,000 girls and 9,000 adults across Eastern Massachusetts. This role offers the opportunity to shape and scale mission delivery with a focus on innovation, inclusion, accessibility, and measurable impact. 

Champion Equity and Community Pathways:

Champion efforts to broaden diversity within the GSEMA community by developing creative approaches, strengthening proven practices and fostering accessibility across all communities. Drive expansion into underserved communities while ensuring GSEMA’s membership reflects the diversity of its service area. The CMDO will foster meaningful partnerships with families, schools, and community organizations to strengthen visibility and engagement.

Innovative Program Development:

Enhance program excellence and spearhead the creation of girl-informed programs in entrepreneurship, STEM, and life readiness. This role is ideal for a leader who thrives on designing accessible, high-quality experiences that empower girls and support volunteers.

Operational and Financial Stewardship

Oversee mission delivery budgets, manage P&L, and ensure financial sustainability through strategic planning and performance monitoring. The CMDO will play a key role in aligning resources with organizational priorities.

Ideal Candidate Profile
Must have a minimum of 15 years experience in the following areas:

  • Proven leadership experience in youth programming, with a strong track record of growing membership, particularly in historically marginalized and underserved communities.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to translate vision into action.
  • Skilled in team leadership and motivation, relationship building, and operational execution.
  • Experience managing large, cross-functional teams and driving measurable improvements.
  • Strong strategic planning, financial management, and project execution skills.
  • Exceptional communication, collaboration, and leadership abilities.
  • Committed to diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility in all aspects of mission delivery.
  • Bachelor’s degree in nonprofit administration, youth services, business, finance, or 20 years of equivalent experience required. Master’s degree or MBA preferred.
